About the event
Bird Migration, Marine Life, and the Meeting Point Between Humans and Nature
Join us for a family-friendly experience this autumn – the great migration season! During the tour, we will visit the fish ponds of Ma'ayan Zvi – one of the most fascinating sites in Israel for observing waterbirds. We will learn to identify the birds, understand who migrates and who stays year-round, and discover why this location is a resting and feeding stop on their long journey between Europe and Africa.
From there, we will continue to the nearby seashore, where we will encounter an equally rich world: agile crabs, unique plants, mollusks, and perhaps even observe the mysterious behavior of guitarfish – close relatives of sharks. We will learn about the unique ecosystem of the Carmel Coast and the delicate balance between human activity – fish ponds, agriculture, development – and the preservation of nature and migration.
What awaits you…
