Extinct animals from Israel

Updated: Nov 21, 2023

Did you know that up to a few decades ago it was possible to see ostriches, crocodiles, cheetahs, bears, tigers and even seals in our country?

Over the last century, through the unrestrained use of natural resources, humans have cornered wildlife which has affected their ecosystems and caused their extinction. If we do not consider our environment and stop harming nature, the only remnants that will be left of wildlife, such as honey badger, the caracal or the Israeli deer, will be in pictures or movies like in the Ein Gedi Reservation sign:

Biodiversity is of utmost importance in supporting life-sustaining processes on Earth. Each species in existence today is an intricate thread woven into the tapestry of life on Earth. This entire ecosystem provides us humans with many routine and essential resources such as, stable and fertile ground, disease regulation, floodwaters, and maintaining clean air and stable temperatures. As many species cease to exist, the balance of the planet is weakened and us humans are the first to be harmed by this.

A simple example of this are the pollinators, bees, and other insect species.

If they disappear, the ability of many consumable plants to reproduce will disappear as well.

Even if we try to find technological solutions, it is not certain that they will be possible and beneficial.

Therefore, we at Safe Animal Crossings, are asking to accelerate the protection of local species and rehabilitate our important biodiversity which gives us essential resources, completely free. There are enough reasons for the overwhelming disappearance of wildlife – Let us come together and try to have one less reason; it is possible to accomplish this quickly.
