Suggested Nature Reserves to visit on Shavuot!

Updated: Nov 21, 2023

How fun is it that the warm days have arrived and with them the opportunity to take a dip in the streams and springs of the Land. Here are a few suggestions for refreshing trips with natural water sources:

  • Nahal Eyon Nature Reserve - where the Eyon stream flows in a beautiful canyon. You will also be able to enjoy waterfalls and wade in different pools.

  • Nahal Hashofet - one of the most popular streams. When you get there, you will feel for the moment that you have arrived in Tuscany. You will find streams, waterfalls, and ponds there.

  • Nahal Kasziv - there are different routes that are suitable for families and also longer routes for more experienced hikers, lasting 7 hours. There will be parts of the route that will require swimming, and if you're lucky, you might even get to see one of the amazing creatures that have been reintroduced into the wild – the Fallow Deer.

It is important to remember that on the way to your next travel destination or nature reserve, you are traveling on a road which for the wild animals, is filled with many dangers. Remember dear friends, wild animals cross the roads, sometimes in the dark and sometimes in the light so let's protect them together!

How can you avoid harming animals crossing the road or animals that may be near the road?

- Drive at the speed limit, always look forward on the road

- Play a game together as a family; who can find the most animals on the road during your trip?

- Keep your food in the car and don't throw the packages out of the window! This attracts the animals onto the roads and endangers them.

In addition, trampled animals may attract scavengers and predators that may also be run over, creating a chain event of trampling.

Have you reached your destination? Did you go to the path? Even on the trails you can help protect the wild animals!

Listen to the instructions of the Nature and Parks Authority,

Bring garbage bags with you for your leftover food and throw it in the closed trash bins at the end of the trip.

Let's protect the Israeli landscape and the animals that live in it. Most importantly, don’t forget to enjoy it!!

Happy Holiday 🌺
