Dr. Daniel Metcalfe

Member of the board of directors, designer, design researcher and visiting senior lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning. He completed his BA and MA studies in design at the Politecnico in Milan and a PhD from the Nationalist University in London (2015). His PhD thesis examined design processes that address the needs of wildlife in built environments and the role of design in human-animal interactions. Today, Daniel is involved in ecological restoration projects, nature-oriented planning and design (through the Ministry of the Commons), teaching and research on design for animals, human-nature relations and biodiversity conservation.
